Hi all, I have a GTX 670 I want to power with my Rosewill Arc 450 80+ Bronze Cert. Power supply. For PCI, it has a six pin and a 2 pin whilst the EVGA SC Gtx 670 needs two six pins. I have two options I think.

1. Use an adapter to convert a six pin to two six pins (or something along those lines I assume)

2. Use the other 4 pin connector for the CPU to power it

3.  Literally do nothing and have a 6+2 as opposed to a 6+6

Here's what I mean. I have two 4 pins for the motherboard, although it only needs 1, leaving one free. So I can essentially have a 6 and a 4+2 to power the card, which is technically what I need. Is it safe? Will the extra 4 pin for the motherboard work just fine, or will the voltages/rails/thingies be different and therefore unsafe?

Also, what will happen if I use a 6+2 instead of a 6+6? It does draw power, like 75 watts, right, from the motherboard. So will the 6+2 and the motherboard power be enough? Please reply with detailed answers! Thanks a lot

Does it really need that extra 4 pin? Isn't two of the pins for grounding anyway

Do you have the parts? If so, try to POST with the connector missing, otherwise, you will have to do some work researching the pin-outs of the 6-pin and its importance etc to try to figure out how to splice another cable.
