Hey guys,

my first build is finally done, Im pretty happy how it all turned out. This is the final list:

CPU FX-8320

COOLER CM 212 Evo

MB ASUS Sabertooth 990fx R2.0

RAM Kingston Hyper X 2x4 GB 1600

SSD Samsung EVO 120GB

GPU Gigabyte R9 280x R2

PSU CM V700

CASE FD Define R4

So on to my question. I started to OC the CPU, and testing with Prime95. Got to 4.2, idle temps are fine (around 35*C), but under full load its already around 58-59*C after like 10 minutes (I dont think it would go more then this, it pretty much stayed there). Didnt touch voltages, I left them manually on stock. Are these temps normal? I didnt have time to try to push a bit more, but I read that over 62*C for FX is no good, so Id rather not push it too far for 24/7 stable. I know that 212 evo is not the best air cooler on the market, still 4.2 seems kinda low. What do you think? Could it be that I didnt put the thermal paste properly or something similar (I used the Noctua NT-H1).

Thanks for any input

I've never heard of the over 62 degrees thing, but then again, I might just be an idiot. I personally think that 59 Celsius on anything 4.2 GHz with an air cooler is fine.
