Hey,
I'm not quite sure about it, but doesn't usb-c only support digital data? I mean you'd have to have an A/D-converter like in an external sound-card, that could probably also support the 48V phantom-power that some microphones do require...?

So a simple cable wouldn't do, you'd require at least a small box for the converting of the voltage and A/D-converting stuff and so on...

USN-C can deliver up to 20v and almost all XLR mics require phantom power which is 48v

There are XLR to USB cables like this but they struggle with power delivery so I figured maybe USB-C brought some change since it can charge laptops now and crazy stuff. I guess not yet.

Also there is the Blue icicle but I guess I could by a USB-C cable for that.

I guess the main problem with those kind of cables would not necessarily be the power, but quality. I mean whats the point in buying a microphone that has a XLR-plug but then waste its capabilitys on a shitty converter...? You might as well just use a headphone-jack microphone then I guess...
