4790S Overclock?

I have a 4790S Running at 3.2ghz, and want a little bit more power. I'm new to overclocking, and want to give myself a bit more speed for games and video editing. Since the 4790S is locked, I was wondering if it was possible to unlock the cpu to be overclockable.

BLCK overclocking was a thing till big brother said 'stap it'. you'll need a 'K' processor and a 'Z' platform chipset for overclocking.

Negative, Ghost Rider, the pattern is full. S chips cannot overclock.

No, you can OC only via BCLK which will give you about 5% higher clocks if you are really lucky.

Have in mind that it will increase clocks of everything, PCI-e, RAM, CPU, SATA, etc... so the stability issues will appear very fast.

You cant BCLK haswell/ivy (past 105), since its tied to other things unlike skylake where I have my 4.4ghz "i7" xeon  

 

Is so stupid intel has disabled it on kaby/coffee lake, its straight up just a software lock in the microcode.

They even tried to push it as a feature on skylake....then they tried to take it away.

I remember that happening with 100 series chip sets and 200 series chipsets. I thought BLCK is possible on haswell. Either that, or I have not been paying attention

Intel should release a development package for entusiasts for unlocking any Intel cpu.
