Hey guys I'm looking to upgrade to a 7700k since the coffee lake stuff won't be compatible with my z270 board. I have a question anyone has feedback from buy a cpu off Amazon. I was looking to add a protection plan but not sure what would be a good choice. Also anyone delid there 7700k have any feed back on it it's worth it.

I both bought my chip from Amazon, and delidded it. I didn't get the plan, but the delid really made a difference. My chip was pretty hot before, at stock clock speed, I'd get over 80 @full load using the Corsair H110i, when I got it back I was able to get it to 4.9 GHz and was in the 70s @full load. Since then I've installed a custom loop and because of that was able to clock it up to 5.1ghz. Now I get a Max temp of 64 and an average temp of 55 @ full load.
