Sounds like the CPU got a hit as well... 

 

ok another option yould be both used PSU are broken... but I won't go that far.

Was replacing a broken mobo with a new one, but now it is having issues powering on.

Cpu was recently working with the old motherboard. However now that mobo is having the same issues with this new one.

 

Old mobo: MSI X99A SLI PLUS

New mobo (it was DOA): EVGA X99 FTW K

Newer mobo (Received it today): ASRock X99 Taichi

 

i7 5820k

GTX 980

2 x 8gb G. Skill Trident Z (2133)

WD Blue m.2 SATA SSD

EVGA 750G NEX

EVGA 850BQ (Extra PSU)

 

Have tried:

-Clear cmos

-Reseat cpu

-Tried different ram slots with one stick

-Tried different PSU

-Switched to bios 2

 

It does not power on long enough for the debug codes to come on, (Will power on for a split second then turns off)

i bought the 850 watt psu for testing about a week ago. it is new.

 

Would there be any other way of making sure it is the cpu?

well aside from that. issue being i do not have another x99 cpu on hand, the only available in-store ones cost $1,000. It would be preferred to not spend more until definitely confirmed.

you could spend the same to "burn through" more motherboards that give the same issues.

 

Ok the devil is in the details and I saw administrators emptying their stomach in front of the server room doors, so the "luck" that both mobos are broken and your cpu isn't is given, but to be honest, really small.

If you have a computer store in your vincity like the ones I have, you could bring your machine there and ask them to test it for you, this would clear things up, the shop here takes 50 bucks for a quick look/testing.

Best Buy is the only one near. Do they offer that?

That I can't tell... I have pure computer stores around. Their website should tell you if they are offering this kind of support... But I personally would doubt it.
