Gaming performance low on PUBG?

I'll keep it simple. I have 6700k 32gb ram and GTX 1080 strix and I can't get 144 fps constant on high settings in PUBG(70-90 fps). I thought that my PC is a beast and can run anything why is it not doing well here? Is this unexpected or am I asking too much of my PC?

If you keep an eye on your GPU usage, you'll often see it dropping below 95% in many areas. This usually indicates a CPU bottleneck.

 

On my system, I'm able to easily reach 110 FPS when my system isn't being bottlenecked. In a lot of areas though, especially towns, my frames drop to the high 50's to low 60's, and my GPU usage drops accordingly. This is something that's affecting everyone, though some more than others. Like people have been saying, PUBG is in need of optimizations. Fortunately, the beta version in the PTS seems to be running smoother than the current live build, so that's something to look forward to.

Entirely to be expected. When 1.0 comes out you should see a drastic improvement to framerates and frametimes. But in general PUBG is currently very CPU and network bound. You could probably be running entirely at ultra and see no drop in FPS from High.
