IMHO watercooling is only semi practical.

I might get flamed for this but to me water cooling is something i do because its cool ,its a hobby and i enjoy it. Do I get better temps? Sure. Is it worth it $$ wise, Im not sure.

One undeniable perk to water, and my biggest attraction to it is that it CAN be silent.

If were honest water cooling is a lot of work and requires some maintenance.

It depends on what you consider practical.  Some may find air cooling just fine (me included), but others want that quieter and better cooling.  And the badassery of having your own watercooling loop puts you in the top percentile of computer people.

This!!

It is exactly how you describe it, it is a hobby. It´s way more expensive than air cooled components and of course a little bit more dangerous ;) for your rig. But if you do it right it is nice looking, silent and very cool. For enthusiasts like me the perfect solution :) .

If you are not looking for a super silent built or going for the hard overclock I personally wouldn´t recommend it. Too expensive for just to have a killer look ;).
