Should i upgrade?

Well hello guys! I'm currently troubled with a question and i need your advice on it. So we know the holiday deals are coming and i was thinking of using the oppurtunity to 1 up my GPU. Currently i'm using a HD7770, it's great but i kinda need more power than that. I am thinking of getting a r9 270 (without the X). Is it a good upgrade in your eyes? What boost in FPS can i expect if i do so (in games like let's say BIoshock Infinite for example, and a 1080P monitor), will it be 50%, double maybe? That btw is the best card i can afford so i can't get a better one. The price of a 270 here is ~60% more than the 7770 so i'm thinking i'm getting a good deal.

The 270 is equivalent to a 7850 if I'm not mistaken, there will hardly be an increase in performance.  EDIT: I should probably have looked at more than 1 benchmark, 270 should be a good upgrade.

The 7870 price here isn't good and the 7850 is the same price as 270. I just checked and i can get a 270X for ~15$ more than the 270. Should i do it and what is the diffrence that i'm going to see after the purchase? I mean will i be able to run reasonably high details in AC4 at 1080? I can't go more than 270X in any case.
