Getting 4k 60hz to work with my 280x

Rolling Potatoe

Hey,

Ive been using an active Displayport 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapter for a while

and getting 4k 60hz with my sapphire 280x vapor x. The connections on my adapter

are a bit loose however so that I lose the connection from time to time. I bought this

active DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 cable for a better connection https://www.ebay.de/itm/2-m-4K-Displayport-1-2-auf-HDMI-2-0-Kabel-100-Kupfer-Adapterkabel-IC-CHIP-2-0m/172213863833?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 , however I am just getting 4k 30hz.

Has the seller ripped me off and send me a hdmi 1.4 adapter or am I missing something here?

It might be a problem with the GPU itself not being able to support 4K@60Hz but that seems a little unlikely...

Yeah I had a 280x and used the mini-display port to output 4k@60Hz. So I know it's possible. Just make sure you are using a legit adapter and cable. DON'T cheap out on them.

GPU: XFX RX 7900 XTX

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
