i want to know what is the best version of windows to be using in 2017 what would you use?

I am not happy to say this but Windows 10 cuz 8 sucks and 7 its getting outdated, 10 is the most supported and will be most supported in the future and upgrading isn't free anymore.

Windows 10 will have the most support from MS. UWP Apps are only on Windows 10 so... Windows is actually great. I don't mind the telemetry because I need the Windows Insiders Builds.  Windows 8 will end regular support on the 9th of January 2018 and extended support will end in the 2023s. Windows 7's extended support will end in the 2020s. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13853/windows-lifecycle-fact-sheet. DX12 is a major part of modern games if they use it.

Win10 Home. There's 0 point to get old version of OS unless you need them to run some specific software.
