amd fx-8350 worth??

im planning on getting a pc that include a gtx 1070 and a amd fx-8350.

wondering if it is worth??

New? Or used? If it is new don't even think about it. A FX 8350 will massively bottleneck the GTX 1070.

Get a newer ryzen chip which outperforms the 8350 especially since you are spending enough to get a 1070. At least get an r5 1500 or get a core i5 from intel. The 8350 is definitely a bad choice.

Actually Jayztwocents did a video a few months ago where he tested the FX8350 with the 1070 to see if it could still game.

 

GTA V with a GTX 1070 and 6900K, 135fps

GTA V with a GTX 1070 and 8350, 45fps.

 

When I mean bottleneck I mean absolutely massive.

yeah, the fx will bottleneck the 1070 i recommend you get a ryzen 5( 1600 ish or higher) since itll have less or no bottlenecks to that graphics card.

The FX line is great for super low budget people I don’t regret buying my 6300 even though I bought it this year

Not anymore it’s not. It was 2 years ago, but now it’s worthless especially with Coffelake

The FX cripple wasn't even worth when it was brand new... so yea^^

 

Unless you have an old one at home, and planning on building a cheap computer with that, go for it (it's already there).

 

But if you spend money for it, don't buy that old crap.

Even a Pentium G4560 dual Core for 60 bucks has more Gaming Performance^^"

 

So there isn't 1 single Reason to spend any money for that.

 

Go for Ryzen 5 1600.

If too expensive, 1400 (but i do recommend the 1600.. 6 Cores instead of 4, and it's still quite cheap), or Ryzen 3.
