Alternative to surface pen

I am going to purchase a surface book 2, a $2900 computer, which is really expensive for me. One problem with it is microsoft decided to be like apple and not include the surface pen with the laptop. I dont really want to spend $99 on a surface pen, so I am interested if anyone has an alternative to the surface pen that is compatible with windows ink and preferibly can magnetically attach to the side of the laptop. I dont care about pressure levels to much, I mainly want to use the pen to take notes.
