So im deciding between a RYZEN 3 1300X or a RYZEN 5 1400-4 core since there both near the same price the RYZEN 5 is only 20 bucks more due to a newegg sale...

If you are on a tight budget dont get the 1300x just get the 1200 and over clock it, but the 20$ spent on the 1400 is better. But what is this machine exactly for ?

Im going to guess even though you plan on doing gaming you will be doing a lot more the, 1400 is probably the best bet out of your choices, pair that with an asrock b350 mobo or so, and then get an 8gb kit or so of ram and you should be set it comes with a stock cooler so you dont need to buy one
