Cryorig R1 Ultimate

Nuxxy

I've been looking into getting a new cooler for my Ryzen 5 1600 that I can get some decent overclocks on. I currently have a Cryorig H7 but I am using the AMD stock cooler because I dont have the AM4 bracket and they're all out of stock. (I have the H7 from my old A10 5800k AM3 chip). I like how cryorig's coolers look and perform but I want something a little beeferier than the H7.

Does anyone have the R1 Ulimate that can give me some pros/cons? I already made sure it would fit in my case (Crosiar 460X) as that seems to be an issue with this cooler

Does the R1 fit your memory modules? If not you might have to go with the Universal one.

IIRC you won't see cooling much better than your H7.

Yea, I have Corsair Vengence LPX memory, its pretty low-profile. only 31mm. With the front low-profile fan it comes with i don't think memory will be an issue. Im planning on using my H7 in a home server i'm building with some old hardware i have laying around, that's why i'm looking into getting a new one.

Ah, yeah then it'd be a good unit. I'd wait to see if it goes on sale during Black Friday.

I have the R1 Ultimate, not currently in use but have one as my back up air cooler for my Ryzen 7 1800x. I did use it for a while on my 6700k when my water block was broke and can tell you it works just as well as my EK L240 liquid cooling loop.

I have the R1 Ultimate cooling my 7700K @ 4.7GHz 1.3v, it is a huge cooler, Corsair Vengeance LPX just fits nicely under the front fan. I think the only con is the size of the cooler itself, other than that it is a good cooler. The screws on the heatsink may be a little hard to reach though, but they give you a nice long screwdriver in the box.

I used the R1 with my 5820k then shortly with my 7700k. The cooler is great when it comes to temps put it is massive and may give you problems with ram if your ram has a high profile.

The R1 Ultimate is an excellent alternative to an AIO cooler.  It's possibly the best air cooler on the market, or at least in the top 5.  Keep in mind that it won't work with high profile RAM.  That means anything that has those pointless heat spreaders.  You'll need an R1 Universal for compatibility.
