So I have an i7 5820k. Its OC'd to 4.4GHz at 1.29v, I have a Corsair H110i GT cooler on it and the thing constantly goes between 45-55c. When under full load i have to ramp the fans completely up to keep it at 90c and when it climbs, it clumbs quickly. Any ideas before i start re-seating everything or throwing this cooler out because this seams a bit hot to me.

Did you use the stock paste on the cooler when you bought it?

If so, you might want to get something like Arctic Silver 5 or Arctic MX 2 or 3 to replace it, as the stock stuff usually isn't that good.

What RPM is your pump at?

Setting it higher usually affects temps noticeably.

I have a H100i GTX modified to have a 280mm rad on it, with my 8320 @4.5GHz 1.356v low fan and pump settings ~780RPM and ~1950RMP respectively, I get ~33 degrees Celsius.

I would try reseating the CPU cooler, as it is not that difficult, and make sure your CPU and pump block are very clean before reapplying the AS5.

Also, since your CPU is so large, it probably wouldn't hurt to put slightly more compound on it.

Yeah, there's definitely something wrong then.

swapped out thermal paste and reseated. Noticed it looked like there wasnt enough paste on it. im still idling aroung 44c and randomly jumping into the 50s. even added two more fans for push/pull.
