Computer connected to amp

So I have a Samsung SS-3490 with some Realistic speakers and I currently have my PC hooked into it with a single aux cord so I am only getting mono. I was wondering if I should simply get a splitter or can I use the other audio ports on my motherboard. It has a total of 5 and I never really think about them unless it's green or red for mic and audio. So can I use them or should I just get an adapter? Thanks

well they are there to provide 7.1 sound or whatever so you can probably use them just fine, just plug into the right ones:

I'm curious how you're only getting mono out of the PC currently.  The lime/green "line out" that everyone is probably familiar with is stereo...

you need a 3.5mm (1/8") to 2x RCA lead, should work fine from the lime port if your amp is stereo and properly working

I'm getting stereo out but my amp has two aux in ports that are single channel each so it's only taking one channel from my stereo channel aux cord from my PC. So I would need to split it into each separate channels
