Wait hold up... Ive researched benchmarks for the 8600k and its a bit worse than the 7700k and for a higher price... why recommend that?

How is it worse? You get a newer platform and 50% more cores.

Ive seen its bad under load and the 7700k runs games better... idk much about this though

Mylove for rog strix isnt allowing me to, plus i wont be playing games that need more than a 1070 im pretty sure..

I mean, if you don't need more than a 1070 you don't really need more than an 8400+$25 air cooler either though...

This looks pretty good.

 

I would go for a different cpu cooler, maybe this guy (the H100i GTX and H100i v2 are literally the same except for name and this is cheaper), this guy (very quiet cooler, though aesthetics may not be your thing), or this guy (moar RGB, but again might not be the aesthetics you want), but everything else looks ok.

 

Obviously I personally would cut down on aesthetics more to fit in a 1080 ti but you seem like you want good aesthetics and stuff too, so it looks ok if you want a good balance.
