Failing WiFi Adapter?

Hi,

 

I have a Toshiba Satellite P755-S5398 laptop, and the last couple days I've been experiencing ups and downs in wi-fi speed. This is a very recent development, I haven't experienced any problems like this in my history of using this laptop. I'm beginning to think the wi-fi adapter might be going bad, I experience this in any place in my house, even right next to the router.

 

Does anyone have any ideas as to what's causing this problem or how to fix it?
