Laptop with TB3

Hi, I'm looking for a laptop with TB3

13"-15.6"

More ram better

Faster CPU better

M.2 preferred (more storage is better)

I'm looking for a solid music making laptop.  I have a Motu 828x soundcard

And do live audio recording as well as Midi

Thanks!

Razer Blade, Razer Blade Stealth, I think Dell XPS has a TB3, and more but these are the ones I would recommend.

Razer laptops don't suck for music production. It's light and small, TB3, and if needed FL Studio. It's very powerful even the stealth at playing games on its 4K panel. If you wanted you could go with an Asus laptop or as mentioned by another user the MSI 16L13 but it would be bigger and bulkier than other choices. Plus what are you going to do with the TB3?

Internal build quality sucks, QC sucks, customer support sucks

The zenbooks look nice pro ,and deluxe.

I'd love to find a barebones version

So I can install my own components.

also breaks, overheats, literally the worse customer support in the industry, literally broken motherboard design with the vrms in the underside UNCOOLED. It's like a bunch of interns designed the circuitry.

OP, what's your budget? The base Dell 7577 is probably one of the best value options right now. If I had an unlimited budget, I'd say the Aero 15X is the best looking laptop that still packs good features and power. If you need more power than what the 15X offers, You could look at the Aorus X5, or the Alienware 15.

bullshit.

does not work at 4k. MC maybe, but the other 2 definitely 100% cannot. RL barely works on med 1080p.

And these games run on anything, LoL and HoTs too if you wanna put in mobas. But for any modern games nope. Can't even at 720p.

I've gotten playable framerate on my friends Razer Blade Stealth. If you had the Razer Blade it would have dedicated graphics. Sure I would use the Core anyday but the Razer Blade Stealth is mainly used for regular tasks. My friend got his Razer Blade Stealth to render a project in Davinci Resolve quite reasonably fast considering its dual core. It handles driving two 4K displays, and TB3 is a must for that laptop if you want to play something very demanding.

Sure anecdotal evidence is great. Meanwhile, you can just check benchmarks for the HD620. And i assure you, nope.

Literally one of the worse designed laptops. http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/razer-ceo-covering-up-cheap-poor-design-of-razer-notebooks.801443/

Can't tell what your actual stance is between all the flip flopping.

Very fast is relative. What you actually mean is garbage slow compared to an actual quad core.

So can most laptops.

TB3 adds 0 performance. If you mean by eGPU, sure, but the Razer Blade stealth is definitely not the laptop to pair with an eGPU solution because of the duo-core is pretty shit if you checked some benchmarks. It bottlenecks just about everything. Also the Razer Core is overpriced garbage compared to competing solutions. https://egpu.io/external-gpu-buyers-guide-2017/ for actual good eGPU docks.

If the argument is that the new quad core stealth will be better, sure, but there are just better 8th gen laptops for less

This is a comprehensive list of most tb3 laptops. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12G1VTFWkTL5tb8nxUAtnDHwTLyya9I3Vw-OXXrIN4e4/edit#gid=934244290

Considering your price point there are several very nice new TB3 laptops that are portable.

HP Spectre (13in or 15in depends on you and how much performance you'd like)

Yoga 920, the new best 2 in 1 laptop

XPS13 (the tb3 is 2 lanes, its fine for almost everything cept eGPU)

one of the best price to performance laptops there are is the new Dell Inspirion Gaming series 7557. Quad core with 1060 with tb3 for like 1300 dollars.
