Best HDD for me?

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a new mechanical storage drive (I've already got two SSDs), as my current one is on it's last limb. I'm wondering what you recommend and why.

 

Something along these lines:

  • 3TB - 4TB in capacity
  • I'm in Canada
  • Something a bit faster than my 5400 RPM drive
  • Something that can handle multitasking well (reading and writing simultaneously)
  • Reliable (I've already had two WD drives fail on me after about 2-3 years of use, don't want that to be a trend)
  • No set budget, but I'd like at least a decent value for my money

Thanks! What is the difference between the Barracuda and Barracuda pros? Looking at specifications they seem to be significantly faster and with higher cache. Are they worth it?

I haven't tried them, so no comment. 

 

Looks like it's only the cache and warranty. If the price isn't much higher, go for the Pro.
