Upgrading Laptop hard drive to SSD ?

DarthVader1022

Hello everyone.

First I hope this is the correct place for me to ask this question.

I want to upgrade my laptop hard drive to a SSD but I am unsure if the SSD I have will fit in my laptop,The SSD I have is a SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 250GB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive and my laptop is a ASUS Laptop Q500A-BHI7T05.I have never open up a laptop before and before I do I like to know if anyone knows will the SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 250GB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive fit in my laptop?

I also have a couple PNY SSD available try also..

Thanks for any help you can give me it will be greatly appreciated..

It absolutely will fit, ever laptop(well 99.9%) use 2.5" hdds because they are smaller and more power efficient than 3.5" also the ssd you have fits in the same 2.5" form factor so it should be an easy swap. Hope everything goes well.

Thanks everyone for your reply to my question,I am going to attempt to install it tomorrow or the next day,I will use the SSD I mention for a little while as I do want to install a bigger SSD as I would like to have one that is at least around 500gb as the 250gb will be ok for now but I will definitely want one that is bigger..
