windows transfer between pcs

I had an old pc that had windows 10 not upgraded it never had windows 7. I recently bought a new motherboard, CPU, and ram. If I just transfer the hard drive over to my new pc will it still work? I saw online that its connected to my Microsoft account so i thought it should still work but I'm not sure.

If you're using the save hard drive then yes, of course it will work.

 

If you're not using the same hard drive it would be a slightly different situation.

Thank you. I wasn't sure because I kept getting weird mixed messages on the subject. I will be using the same hard drive so thanks for the info.

Should be good. But if you get issues, you can reinstall to Win10 directly. Your key is registered to use in both original and upgraded OS.
