CAN'T GET MEMORY OVER 2132 WITH ASUS CROSSHAIR VI HERO

So i have a new build and i am having issues getting the memory to get over 2132. I am using G.SKILL TridentZ F4-3200C16D-16GTZR with my ASUS Crosshair VI Hero. i have changed bios settings around the CPU is stable at 4.0 OC. iv'e tried using the profiles in tweaker for best system set up and it will show my ram at 3200 and the right timings but then when i but up and lunch CPU-Z it shows max bandwidth 2132 and the freq is running at 1066Mhz. iv'e even change the settings myself for 3200Mhz and put the timings in manually. the bios will show as it running at 3200 but when i load up and open CPU-Z it still shows the memory at 2132 but it shows the CPU at 4.0. which is what i have it OC at in the bios. 

Any help would be awesome thanks.

how many sticks do you have, if its running dual channel each ram will run at half,

 

so dual channel 1600mhz will run 2 sticks at 800mgz equalling 1600mhz.  but the BIOS is usually right. task manager and third party software is not always reliable for accurate readings

so dual channel 1600mhz will run 2 sticks at 800mgz equalling 1600mhz. 

no thats a fact of double data rate (DDR2 showed the effect of double data rate...DDR3 and DDR4 were just incremental upgrades in power efficiency and speeds)

not an effect of something running in dual channel

i am running 2 sticks at 8GB (16GB) they are running at 1066 not 1600.

One downside to Ryzen is that while it does benefit from faster RAM it usually can't go past 2666MHz once you have a high OC on your CPU. So you will need to try different speeds because I guarantee you will not be able to run your RAM at 3200MHz with a 4.0GHz OC. Before I overclocked my CPU I had my RAM set to it's rated speed of 3000Mhz. But now I am running my 1700 @ 3.9Ghz and my RAM at 2800MHz, which from what I've heard of is pretty rare. Most people can only get their RAM at like 2666MHz.

 

Also, have you adjusted your RAM voltage? You need 1.350V running to your RAM in order to get it to run at any kind of frequency over 2400MHz in my experience.

even before i OC the CPU just running it at stock i couldn't get the RAM to move from 2132 and yes it is set to 1.350V

Okay, so that's the latest Bios and is proven to be good. The reason I ask is because I was having similar issues with Ver 1501, which was a beta version plagued with issues.

so i got mine to run stable at 3066. the crosshair vi hero resets to default if there is an issue in post. so i just walked it up to 3066 and was good but 3200 would reset to default. been running stress test and no issues now. hope that helps.

I'm impressed most people have a hard time getting past 2666MHz. Hope you are running stable!

 

What voltage are you running your CPU at? I was lazy and just got my CPU to run at 3.9GHz stable first try and didn't try 4.0GHz yet but I probably will.
