Is this a good PC build?

Wild Moose

I am going to be building my first gaming PC and I'm not too sure if I have chosen good components. Could someone please have a look at my build and give me some advice and feedback.

Memory - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz

CPU - Intel Core 17-7700K 4.2 GHz QuadCore 8MB Cache Processor

Motherboard - ASUS LGA 1151 STRIX Z270E Gaming Intel Z270 ATX Motherboard

GPU - MSi Geforce GTX 960

PSU - VS650 Watt Power Supply

Cooling - Hydro Series H100i v2 Liquid CPU Cooler

Case - Obsidian Series 750D Airflow

I would use Intel 8th gen or Ryzen. You only need 8 Gb of RAM and I would use a 1050 Ti or a 1060 for your GPU and not a 960. CPU cooler is overkill unless you are planning on going to OC to 5 GHz

What is going to be your goal for gameplay? 1080p at 60FPS? I would use a 1050 TI over a 960 better performance in most AAA Titles. I'd try a Ryzen 5 or i5 8th gen.

Goal will mainly be 1080p at 60fps. Would a i5 8400 be a better option? I'm using a 960 since I am getting one from a friend for free

Yes. It is cheaper than the 7700k, you don't need a CPU cooler, and the motherboard for non overclock able CPUs are cheaper.
