Hey guys, been a while. So a friend of mine have had some problems with his HDD the last couple of days, ending with not having one at all. So he decided that now was the time for some upgrades. He already have some parts that he wants to keep and he mainly uses the computer to play flight simulators.

1.    Budget & Location
Okay so he is located in Denmark and might as well buy the parts in Denmark. I was told that the budget was around 1000 Euro (8000 dkk), though he already have PSU, OS and GPU so there is no way it should get near that price. Let's say 500 Euro (4000 dkk) max. I would appreciate it if the parts are obtainable on http://www.computersalg.dk/ or http://www.proshop.dk/ though if the parts can be bought from amazon uk, there wouldn't be a problem.

2.    Aim
The system is mainly for flight simulators. No OC-ready parts and no reason to think about a build that looks good for the eye. Just a powerful build that works.

3.    Monitor & Peripherals

Both monitor and peripherals have already been acquired.

4.    Parts From Old Build?
As I mentioned earlier he already have some parts from his old rig that he wants to use in the new one:

GPU: PNY GTX 580

PSU: Cooler Master GX650W

OS: Windows 7

I was thinking

i5

8GB ram

1TB HDD

CM Hyper 212 Evo

A case

Extra Fans

I don't know much about AMD CPUs which is why I put in a i5. I hope someone with a better understanding can help me :)

Regards

the parts u picked are fine. adding and SSD would be nice.
GPU is plenty powerful so no need to replace that
psu is enough
fet windows 8 if you want windows 8 but considering he already has windows 7 then thats fine

what do u not understand about AMD CPU"s? the are cpu's made by AMD with more cores. platform overall costs less. worse single thresaded perofrmance (not by much) and better multi threaded performance.

Add a ssd and skip the extra fans.

i dont think he is maxing hi budget so i think he can have both!

I know but he said 'extra fans' instead of just fans to replace the stock ones. This looks like the OP thinks the stock case fans won't be enough which is not true in most cases.
