Yes. Pay attention to where the latch is on the connector. Face the latch away from you, with the pins at the top of the connector. In that position, the left most pin is 1 and right most pin is 8. With the way you have it wired up right now, you'd be holding it with the latch towards you, where the left pin is 8 and the right pin is 1.

So, if you get both ends of the cable and point the latches away from you and hold them both up, the wiring should look the same on both. As it is now, if you hold them up in the same position, your connector is the opposite of the pre-made one.

So I've searched a lot on the web, all from reading and watching video clips about it. But I can't the cable to work. Due to the setup I have now, it means that 1 header is 100% correct but the one I've made doesn't work. I had to take the head off from the other side.... long story...

I've basically cut the cable in half. I've tried to copy the colour-code and nothing. Any suggestions?

Do you mean you're trying to wire up an RJ45 connector?

If so, just pick either T-568A or T-568B and then stick to it and use it on every cable you make. I'd advise just using T568B as it's the most common. Make sure all of the wires are equal length in the connector and make sure you fully crimp them down.

I've used the B-version on the cable, and nothing happens.

If you are talking about an Ethernet cable, and connecting the RJ45 connectors to it, then the cable will most likely be straight through, as shown below.

With straight through cable either end has to be the same, not like in crossover where the both ends are different. You do not have to have them in this order, but it is in best practices.

I've done that colour-scheme. That colour-scheme is on the "safe end" where I didn't cut the cable, and I've done the same on the other end.

Well most likely you have cut them too short, and it cannot reach the end. I was making cables last week with a couple of newbies, and that was the usual issue with there cables.

Can you take some pictures so we can see?

How are you testing the cable?

I know that the wires are too long, but if I get it to work, then I'll make them proper but for now, that's okay. I'm just using a pc to check if I'm getting a signal through.

I might have done that one or two times, but I've tried it multiple times and I don't think I've done that all the times I've tried to connect them.

Your connectors are flipped. One end is indeed T-568B, but the other is the exact opposite because it's T-568B wired upside down. Keep the same wiring pattern, but turn the connector over.

If you're going to be making more cables in the future, it's a good idea to pick up a cable tester that will show you which wires are not connecting or are in the wrong order.

EDIT: Also, make sure when you're wiring the final one, the cable sheath is far enough in to the connector that it gets pinched when you crimp, it will take strain off the wires and pins if it gets pulled.

So it's like this:

So it would be something like that?

I did that and nothing worked. But I've have to try again tomorrow due to the fact it's getting very late.

I tried it again today and it worked, thanks for the help!
