Scam or No?

I wanted to buy a graphics card off craigslist, and the seller says that he will do the transaction through paypal and ship it to me. How can I tell if this is a scam?

You can't. Or get him to put it up on Ebay so you have that sweet buyer protection. But it's for sure a scam.

it's a scam, if you're going through craigslist always pick up in person, with a buddy if possible

That's what I thought, it seemed too good to be true. $400 for a new gtx 1080.

Paypal has that too? Maybe i mix someting up but you can send money for goods and its also protectet?

PayPal has it. But there's no reason a person should be selling something local to you and say they have to ship it. I don't go posting stuff on Craigslist in cali when I live on the other side of the country.  That's what eBay is for.
