So today I went to turn on the PC to play some Asassins Creed and my PC just won't come on. Literally nothing has happened since I was on it last night. The MB lights are on but other than that.. Nothing.

Is my PSU dead? Can they just die like that without any warning?

im seriously pissed off right now as it has just ruined my gaming weekend.

maybe the switch is borked.

try a manual bootup by shorting the pwr pins, of push that handy button on the MB if you have one.

Can be anything.

What are the components you are using?

Most likely is graphics card and the Motherboard. In that order.

Tried the MB power buttons and nothing.

Does the PC work outside of the case? Are all standoffs installed? Are the cables really tightly managed in a way that might choke them?

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Might choke what? It was literally working the day before and had been doing for a very long time. I don't understand how without anything happening it just won't turn on.

So it's not the PSU as I get the same issue with a new one. Now guessing it's a mb problem.

Choke the cables. If you tighten them down with zip ties too tightly or they're being too tightly sandwiched between your side panel and the back of the motherboard tray then you may have issues. It's happened to me before, just putting the suggestion out there.

Does the system power on without your GPU installed? I know the 5930K has no iGPU but the system should still power up, just with no POST on the monitor.
