Hey guys, for my first gaming build I've chosen the MSI R9 280X, and I've just got a few questions for you.

Is there a better card I could get for a budget of around $300?

How does the amount of memory on a card effect gaming? I'm only going to be using one monitor at 1920 x 1080

When I get bored, shit gets broken.

GTX 590, because it performs better.

The 590 doesnt support the new tech's comming out. Mantle, G-Sync, half of nVidia's suite of stuff. Its better to with a new card. Besides a 590 would most likely be second hand, and you dont want second hand parts in your very first build. You want peace of mind.
