So, recently build myself a rig with the below specs:

- i5-7600k

- GTX 1060 6gb

- 16GB's DDR4

And every now and again at random times throughout gaming the whole system will lockup and i will get a very quick BSOD (asin it literally flashes the BSOD screen, and then is back to the login screen). I'm legit perplexed as to the issue. I am running Windows 10 Pro (the latest version) and all my drivers are also upto date. I have checked Windows Event log and it's logged as "Kernel Power with an Event ID of 41 & Task Category (63)" - searched this up and nothing logical about what could be causing the issue came back whatsoever lmao, so i'm here to see if anyone has any ideas.

DxDiag as well as MSINFO are attached.

If you're checking the event log, it's better to find System logs with errors for Bug Checks.

You can also use a program called WhoCrashed to see if it can find out which application caused the BSOD.

Yeah. Already checked those, the BugChecks are just "0x0" across the board. It's the exact same BSOD every single time without deviation regardless of what game is running. And like i said, it isn't even like it's fully BSOD'ing, it's there for a second and then it's back to the login screen, it takes nolonger than about 1second between the bluescreen happpening and it booting again lmao

Can't even edit my reply because the forums currently being buggy. But i'll see if WhoCrashed brings up any leads.

edit: Just loaded it up, apparently there is actually rashdumps found according to WhoCrashed lol

It should say what program likely caused the issue.

Yeah... just like i said, it isn't reporting anything wrong, just the following Analysis and Conclusion:

"Crash dump directory: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump

Crash dumps are enabled on your computer.
No valid crash dumps have been found on you computer"

"Crash dumps are enabled but no valid crash dumps have been found.",

thus, that doesn't really help hahaha

Scenario 3 seems like what you're experiencing, in which case Microsoft recommends the following:

Quote

This scenario usually indicates a problem with the hardware. To help isolate the problem, check the following items:

  1. Overclocking: Disable overclocking to see whether the issue occurs when the system is run at the correct speed.
  2. Check the memory: Verify the memory by using a memory checker. Verify that each memory chip is the same speed and that it is configured correctly in the system.
  3. Power supply: Make sure that the power supply has enough wattage to appropriately handle the installed devices. If you added memory, installed a newer processor, installed additional drives, or added external devices, such devices can require more energy than the current power supply can provide consistently.
  4. Overheating: Check whether the system is overheating by examining the internal temperature of the hardware.
  5. Defaults: Reset the system back to the system defaults to see whether the issues occur when the system is running in its default configuration.

If this happens during gaming, I'm going to point the most likely culprits as 1 or 3.

Probably should have stated i'm running an EVGA 650w PSU, so easily more than enough wattage to go around for the whole system. No overclock either as currently i have no intake fan  - only one 140mm in the back and a Noctua for the CPU - still hangs around 60~ degrees under load even if it isn't the most ideal setup.

Wattage doesn't mean a quality power supply and even then, you could have a dud.
