So i've recently hooked up a second monitor to my computer (HDMI) the other one is dvi, and have noticed that for some games on steam they wont play any audio. Every other application on my computer works fine though, this is limited to steam apps. For example, if i launch PUBG i get audio just fine, but if i want to play borderlands 2 i get no audio regardless of what screen its on, or if its full screen, windowed border less, or just windowed . I've gone into the nvidia control panel and checked if its trying to play sound through my monitor and its not. I have also updated every sound driver i can think of, but from what i have read there should be a HDMI thing in my sound settings and i cant see one. But i can get the sound if i play it through my speakers, the sound stops working if im trying to play it through my headset.

System -

- i5-6500k

-GTX 1070

-MSI z170a board

-razer Kraken 7.1 V2 (usb)

hmm

go into windows sound manager and set usb 7.1 kraken as default

not nvidia gpu built in sound

also check in steam settings for audio options(screenshots help too)

I've always had the headset as the default audio device because i dont like to use speakers. I cant find any options for sound within steam. Pictures below, along with a link to them

hmm then probably a broken/missing registry setting to link audio or the games that your running are seeing headset as microphone only and not speakers and mic

send email to both nvidia and kraken with details of this
