server is a dl580 g2 , just trying to install something besides server 2003

windows xp 32bit = installs , bsod when trying to boot in any mode
windows 7 32bit = no drives detected , essentially no drive controller driver
windows server 2008 = also no drive controller driver
windows 10 64 bit = error cpus not 64bit compatible (tried just to see what it would do)
windows 10 32 bit = stays on windows logo forever after "press any key to boot from cd"

wondering if there's a way to see what windows 10 32 bit is getting stuck on.

Any PCI/PCIe slots to throw in a cheap, wider supported SATA controller?

there's a lot of PCI-X slots , will the machine be able to detect the pci-x card and boot from it after windows has installed?

If it sees it during the install, it should not have a problem booting from it. Unless there's some sort of BIOS limitation, but I can't see that being the case as there are a ton or config that server could come it that would require different controller cards.

well the controller it's using now is part of the motherboard

it has two controllers , one for the hard drives and one for the basic slimline ide cd drive. I'm just worried it won't give the option to boot from a pcix card.
