Threadripper 1920x vs Intel i9-7900x

I just wondering on these 2 cpu about their power consumption and heat. What's the difference on these 2 processor and how good they are. Hope i can find answer since I've found so many review with different info.

What are you doing with them the PC? That will ultimately decide which is better for your use case.

1920x - 2 more cores with Haswell (4/5th gen) IPC, maxes out at 4.2 ghz

7900x - 2 less cores with skylake (6th gen) IPC, maxes out at 5.3+ghz

I use for rendering. Just want to know is there much difference on power consumption n heating between these 2.

Both will be high, a 7900x at 5ghz will take way more than any TR4 chip though.

Threadripper does not have Skylake IPC... saying that it does would be an inherent falsehood.

well seeing as the 7900x is skylake x id imagine ot has the same ipc as skylake or similar

zen has pretty bad ipc tbf, its only advantage is that it has more cores for the same price

yeah, switched the two around somehow.  It's fixed now

Yes, but what software? Rendering is a little too broad. Some can prefer more core, others IPC, some GPU.

adobe rendering? what programs? if its adobe, the 7900x is a better chip, anything else(for the most part, the 1920x will be better)

Corona seems to favor cores and threads over IPC. In the roundups I've read, the 1920 has a lead over the 7900X. Is that the only software you're using?

other software that im using is vray but most of them on 3dsmax
