the maximum speed you can hope for would be 4x on the PCIe, think that would impact the performance tbh so id probably go for a 1050TI. either way i might also be compleatly wrong with that too. you have a pretty decent laptop CPU in that so you could probably expect quite a nice performance bump but seeing as the screen is 768p a 1060 would be overkill AF, because you will be maxing everything i can think off with a 1050 at that resolution lol

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

where would you even connect an external gpu to? your laptop doesnt even have thunderbolt

and miniPCIe is inside your laptop - you would not be able to close your laptop with an adapter like that

I have two backplates  so one will have a cut in it so I can have the cable going through it and I would be going somewhere I would disconnect the cable and put on the second backplate so it wouldn't have a hole in it

yah, the 1060 would perform noticably better at 1080p

Depends on the load, you'd loose about 25% in worst case scenario. Search for youtube videos and you'll see 4X PCI effects. It's not that bad to be honest.

Worth it? IMHO No. It's just to much of a frankestein. Buy a proper Desktop PC or lower your expectation of high performance.

I don't have money for a good gaming PC and the laptop is actually pretty good its just the GPU that's bringing down my performance and I only play 1080p on a monitor so it should be grand
