Hi,

I recently woke up in the morning to turn on my pc but It failed to post even though it was working perfectly fine the night before. It seems like the motherboard is no longer detecting the graphics card which is strange, as I tested the gpu in a friends system in it worked no problem. I also tried putting the gpu out of my friend's system into mine and it worked fine but if I put my gpu in I get no display output just a black screen What the hell is going on the system ran perfectly fine in its original config for more than 2 months why has it stopped working now.

Specs:

cpu r3 1200

mobo asrock b350 pro 4

memory corsair vengance 2x4gb 2400mhz ddr4

psu silverstone strider plus 500w 80plus bronze

storage crucial mx100 512gb ssd

case cm 690 iii

Try putting your GPU in a different PCI-E slot, even not x16.

Run a memtest on the system with both sticks in slot. If it pass, good. If it doesn't, take one stick out and test the other, then switch sticks and test again.. and so on

grab your friends GPU, run DDU to remove the drivers and see if that dose anything for you. also try a BIOS update and a CMOS reset. JayzTwoCent had a similar problem with a pair of Titan cards recently

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

I've had this issue before.

This could be due to the contacts on the GPU becoming damaged and not being read by your motherboard. As you can understand, I'm sure, each motherboard is created and designed differently including the use of PCI-E Slots. It could just be that your friends PCI-E connectors sit slightly higher up than yours allowing the contacts to meet despite any damage.

Can I recommend this to you?
