Pc random restarts

Hi everyone. 

 

I have been encountering a problem recently and i hope to find a solution.

 

Specs:

Ryzen 1600x stock

Asus prime x370 pro

Gtx1080 aorus

Cooler master g650m power supply

Corsair vengeance rgb 16gb 2933 mhz

 

I am having two kinds of problems.

 

Firstly the computer just restarts for no aparent reason

 

Secondly on very rare occasions only the gpu shuts down and computer doesnt even respond to the power button

 

The issue occures almost instantly after booting to windows. The issue doesnt happen under load.

 

I can play games, run stress tests (occt, heaven bench, mem test) flawlesly

 

I am betting on a faulty motherboard or psu

 

Any opinions and help would be grately appreciated!

Thought so... today i tried scanning with nod 32 and opened hw outlook at the same time, and it restarted again. Then i just left it on the desktop with word open, came back after 5 min only to realize that it has rebooted again. But sometimes it works no problems...

Just a random guess.

 

Have you tried re-seating the Ram? Or do a test running individual sticks of ram. You may have a slow burn fault in your system.

 

Could also be due to incompatible ram entirely, check this post out:

Hi and thanks for the reply. Yes i am aware of the compatibility issuses with ram speeds but had no problems until 1 week ago. It was stable for about 2 months. And yes i tried to reseat the ram with no change. Even tried the other 2 slots to no avail. Getting a new power supply today to see if it makes any change

Haha tell me about it works one day and then problems from nowhere. Thats the downside of pcs will let you know in the evening thanks for now!

Ok got the evga 750 bq and all seemed well. Until i stuck a usb drive in the back port then it restarted after a while. Looks like i need a new board

Ok another question. I remembered that the issue started short after updating the nzxt kraken x62 cooler CAM software. Is it possible that that is causing these random restarts?

im not 100% sure but it might be the psu i had similar case, where my psu was the problem

I already changed the psu. The problem seems to be with the cam software adn/or windows 10 fastboot
