Hey there everyone!

So I'm upgrading from a 4790k and Z97 Gaming to an 8600k and Maximus X Hero. Would I need to do anything to prepare my system for the change in hardware? I also just got an M.2 SSD and was wondering if there would be a benefit from transferring my OS on the M.2 from an EVO 850? Thanks guys!

I'm assuming that you are already using the EVO, right?  If so, as far as speed, from what I have read and from what I have been told since I am also using an EVO, you will not find much difference in speed between the two drives.  Just my humble opinion, plz correct me if I am wrong.

Forgot, as for the OS, when installing a new boot drive and/or mobo, the best thing you can do is a fresh, clean install of the OS.

You should ensure the CPU/mobo work before disassembling your current PC. You should make sure to backup all essential data as you'll need to clean install Windows unless you're confident in your ability to remove all old drivers.
