Upgrading from Intel to Ryzen 1600X, new OS install?

Hey all! Quick question for you smart blokes out there:

 

I'm upgrading my older Intel i5-4460 to a Ryzen 5 1600X. Obviously I've ordered the respective motherboard for AMD's chip and new DDR4 Ram to fit that mobo. BUT, will I have to do a new installation of windows 10? Since its going from Intels CPU and mobo drivers, will the new mobo and cpu automatically configure itself and work with my current windows installation? 

 

PLEASE HELP!

Yes, exchange of Motherboard and CPU always results in the need of a fresh clean install of Windows to avoid performance crippling, only Memory RAM and GPU can be exchanged without the need to ditch your old Windows.

You don't have to, but I would recommend doing a fresh install. ;)

So when will I do it. Will I do it post CPU install? So Im assuming everything will still boot up though?

Yah, do it after installing all the new stuff.

You should back up your files, then put altogether and boot from the DVD/USB Drive that has your Windows ISO, make sure to have your serial code at hand before as well, then just boot from the ISO and through it format your C drive to allow the fresh install, finish installing, active it and let Windows Update put all up-to-date then you can just go on from it.
