Thanks for the suggestions.

Currently using 400 W PSU only, but may upgrade the system after a while. So just to be safer, thought to go around 500 or 550 W.

Corsair TXM series is any better than CXM ?

I dont see much upgradability for this system (unless dumping both the CPU, GPU and mobo isnt considered a completely new system).

Corsair CXM<CSM<TXM<RMx. TXM is much better than CXM (even the old ones are good).

Hi,

I'm in need of a 80 Plus Semi Modular/Modular Power Supply around 500 W for my old system.

My PC Specs are as below.

ASUS M2N68 AM+ Motherboard

AMD Athlon II 5000+ Dual Core Processor

4 GB DDR2 RAM

Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD

Seagate Barracuda 3 TB HDD 7200 rpm

Nvidia Geforce n210 1 GB GPU

LG DVD-R/W 24x internal

LG 32MN58H FHD Monitor

Please suggest me a best Semi Modular PSU for this spec with good warranty.

PSU Brands available in my country are Corsair, Antec, Seasonic and Cooler Master.

Budget is around $60 to $80 USD.

Rig 1: Corsair Carbide Spec Alpha Mid-Tower Case, Corsair RM750x PSU, Intel Core i7-6700, Gigabyte GA-Z170N-WIFI-Rev 1.0 MB, HyperX DDR4 8 GB 2133 MHz, Kingston 240 GB SSD, WD Blue 2 TB, Samsung 23'' FHD Monitor

nah, even 400w psu can suit your needs.

Corsair CXM and Seasonic M12ii are both good choices. M12ii is based on old tech and somewhat outdated, but it is certainly well-proven.

Planning to upgrade the Mobo alone to AM3+ as it's a secondary PC.

Okay then, will try to get TX550M.

However can't find it in any online stores. Will have to check locally.

Thanks for your help.

I can't seem to find the TX-M or CX-M within my price range as 550W is not available anywhere and only listings start from 650W in available sites.

Please suggest me some other model within my budget.

Not exactly many choices...

Within that price range, the only choice I'd consider as "alright" is the Antec VP550P. It's DC-DC regulated and made by Delta Electronics (I know, I know... don't buy by brand... but you can make an exception here and there).

Okay thanks.

I had that in consideration first, but didn't go for it as it's lacking any 80 Plus certification.

Will see and may get the below one.

Thank you.

The VP600P is based on a completely different platform and is made by Fortron/FSP. If I were you, I would not get that unit and just stick with the VP550P.

The fact that it doesn't have 80+ Certification doesn't reflect its quality as a PSU.

Ohh, I thought both had same quality and same manufacturer. So thought to go for the extra 500 W.

So I'll stick with VP550P if I don't find any deals on CX-M or TX-M.

Yep. Antec is weird with their naming schemes.
