24/7 Stream PC

So I recently decided to start a 24/7 music stream on twitch but there's one problem.

 

I don't want to hear the music i'm streaming (spotify) and I don't want the stream hearing any other desktop audio playing. So I looked up how to do this and found out that I need a VAC (Virtual Audio Channel) that contains Spotify. Since I don't want to do that could I just put together a pc from old parts to stream to twitch using obs?

you could use a virtual mixer on your computer like Voice Meeter

Yes that is an option as long as the CPU is capable enough to run windows, Spotify, and encode to twitch, and have a decent connection to the internet it should be able to stream. However a VAC would be an easier solution.

another consideration if you are still looking at a separate pc is it may be worth moving to a cpu and mobo that supports ecc so that the server is a bit more stable for 24/7 use, and a ups is never a bad idea
