Which NIC to use?

tezza192

My Z370 board has both the intel and killer NIC onboard. Does anyone know what the difference is and which is the best one to use?

Both for that sweet... ... actually, your ISP is killing your NIC anyways.

I'd use one for a day or two and then the other to see which gives more consistency.

and it has just 1 wireless nic.
So don't know where the intel one is coming from, where does it show?

Yup that ones does seem to have both intel and killer.
Looking at the sales pitch for killer:
http://www.killernetworking.com/products/killer-e2500
it looks like it has some kind of build in QoS to have gaming related packet get priority over non-gaming related packages. So if you want to do streaming/gaming you probably want to use that port.
But as mentioned above you'd be best of by just giving both a testrun and see which performs best.

I personally would go with Intel but I agree with @ARikozuM (hey man!) and see which one you prefer. I will tell you that I am not a huge fan of killer network software, half of it is a gimmick from the start. If you have a nas you could connect one to your nas and other to your local network, just a thought.

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.

If the Killer NIC only has QoS, just pick any NIC since your switch/router likely supports QoS itself.
