No Bootable Media Found

A neighbour asked me to wipe their HDD and do a fresh install of Windows 8.1 on their Toshiba Satellite laptop (that's the only information of the laptop model I'm aware of) because their kids had installed a virus on it. I managed to wipe the drives but when trying to install Windows back on it the laptop isn't recognising my memory stick and saying "no bootable drive - please restart" I've changed the order of boot disks so my memory stick is the priority, changed the boot from UEFI to CMS and took off the secure boot.

How did you create the bootable USB? Did you use the Windows Media Creation tool?

Try different USB ports and use the boot menu to force it boot from USB rather than setting it in the Boot priority. If that doesn't work, try making an installation DVD.

I can't find the option for that in the BIOS

Found it by holding f12, it still hasn't worked

Just looked at my memory stick in my PC, the installer isn't on there so I'm guessing that's my problem

Turns out that I accidentally wiped the memory stick when I wiped the HDD . Currently going through the installation process now. Thanks for the help

Really? Interesting. Next time, wipe the HDD within the Windows install Wizard, that way you won't accidently wipe your install media as it won't even give you the option to. Glad you got it working!
