Hi everyone,

Me and my team started using Comms about 2 months ago. We used it to talk randomly and to play games, but since a week or so, we are running on some trouble.

We were playing CS:GO in competitive mode and noticed we had a delay between us...

Just to make my issue clear: I would die, and see the other team win, and just after that hear my buddies say: "BEHIND YOU TURN AROUND!".

We tried using... Skype (because it's the only other VoIP we had other than Comms) and guess what, by using Comms and Skype at the same time we could hear our selves very clearly and without delay on skype, and then with various delay times hear the same thing again coming from Comms...

So I'm asking, has anyone else run into the same kind of trouble, and would there be a solution other than to switch to another VoIP client?

Have a good day ;)

EDIT: If you want to hear what it's like to have this issue, you could ask me to upload some footage of Skype and Comms at the same time, as I recorded some of it. (Mind you, it's in French).

EDIT2: I have only searched on this forum, because I like our awesome LTT Comunity, and I did not find any post related to this issue.

Well, I don't think so, we all have more than 12Mbps internet connection, and some of us even have fiber, including myself.

And since we can hear our-selves without delay and with the same quality on Skype, it can't be the issue.

But thanks for your quick answer.

Well, that's my internet speed, and my buddys have similar speeds, or a tenth of my speed, which would be more than sufficient to drive a VoIP...

I'm gonna wait for more answers, and see what other people think.

Thanks.

As far as I know, RC is still in beta (haven't used it in a while) and we had similar issues. I don't really have a fix for it, I would recommend switching to something like Teamspeak (only one I have experience with) or even the Steam voice chat. We switched to Teamspeak and never had a problem since.

Yeah, I guess we'll try Steam chat, and after that maybe find a better solution.

Thanks for your input.

Nope.

We don't want to have a computer runing 24/7 just for teamspeak or any other server based VoIP that you can host yourself.

Thanks for trying.

Yep I got sick of comms' s "beta" idiosyncrasies and kicked it to the curb. I now almost done setting up my mumble server. It currently does not have any sort of administration so that could be a issue until I get time to add it.

I´ve got the same problem with the last beta.

I allso had random disconnects.

Thanks guys, I think I have my answer, I'll go somewhere else and maybe try Comms again a year later or so.
