OKIA-450ATX??

Go to solution Solved by Stefan Payne,

Yes, but you don't need 600W, 500W is more than tripple what you need for your system.

So you can either save 10 bucks or get one with cable managment:

500

500CM

I have always been lingering around this forum, and due to my experiences yesterday, just want to thank you guys for all the support.

Okie, so I have been planning on upgrading this PC for a while now. If you have not seen any of my other forum posts, it is an ASUS CM1730. I would like to use it for many purposes, but playing (some, not all) games would be nice. I would like to get a GTX 1050 with it as well. Anyways, as I had already figured out the motherboard, PCIE, RAM, and all that other stuff, what remained was the PSU. I looked inside and found an OKIA PSU. It was an OKIA-450ATX, to be exact.

Is it a good, or piece of junk PSU, and if it is, what should I get to replace it?

Thanks for your time.

Never heard of the company, so probably junk. Look at the tier list and get at least tier 3 or up

Thanks for the response, but what if it is not compatible? Can PSU's not be compatible?

It's an ATX PSU. It's a smaller one, so you'll want something about the size of a CX450 if you're putting it in the Asus, but it shouldn't be hard to replace.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

As far as I know/remember that's a total Junk unit with all the crap you don't want in a PSU.

So you better avoid it and get a better quality (NOT HIGHER WATTAGE!!) one...

Ok, that is a good argument. Any recommendations for my current system?

I've found something on some video site...,

Looks bad - really bad...

And whenever I see THAT colored casing, I'd stay away from it as far as possible.

Where do you live?
What's available for a reasonable price?

My standard recommendations:

be quiet Pure Power 400W

Cougar GX-S, 450W
Bitfenix Whisper M, 450W

Are they available? What do they cost??

Well, I live in the Spokane area of Washington State, in the United States of America.

Anyways, most of the time I buy online, so availability probably wont be a problem.

Would they work in my PC? I head that some PSUs are not compatible with certain PCs.

Also, what do you consider a fair price for a PSU?

I don't know.

A Corsair HX750i should work with my Gigabyte X79-UD5 - but it doesn't.

Those things rarely happen though...

The PC seems to be fully ATX compatible, so they should work. With something like a 95% probability.

The be quiet should be the cheapest of those and be around 50-60€ max.

The Cougar GX-S shouldn't be more than 70€

The Bitfenix is the most expensive one with around 80€

Ok, I'll look into those. By the way, after looking it up, my motherboard (M4A7BLT-M) is referred to as a MicroATX motherboard, are these compatible?

Is this it by the way?
