Installing games on SD card

So, I have a problem. I am going on vacation to Köln Germany. I have an SD card which has all of my school work on it (backed up of course). but my idea is to be able to switch out the SD cards, and basically have a new laptop. without the risk of losing my files. so the question is how I put games on my SD card without Steam.

How are they installed now? you could use a program called SteamMover (yes i know you said you didnt use steam) but this should still work. It creates special short cuts where the game will look for certain files, and you can direct it to your SD card.

Depends on your SD Card and the build-in reader of your laptop but I think loading games from an SD Card will be a pain in the ass.

Aren't you able to use the build in disk (HDD/SSD) for video games? I could borrow you a SanDisk USB stick which is quite speedy and you could also use my 400 Mbit/s connection for downloads. I'm living in Köln Mülheim (for navigation purposes) ;)

if you are going to Köln leave the laptop at home and enjoy the city rather than playing games.

beside this games on SD cards are a bad idea simply because of the low transfer speed.

install the games directly on the laptop and save yourself much headache and work.

that doesnt make Köln any worse, in fact this means the trip should be planned out.

well then why not just install them to the SD card when you pick a place to install them. You need the installer, but since you are not using steam then the methods probably cant be talked about on here.

I don't like tourism, and I don't like to be part of it. that is my opinion please. but there is no tour, we primarily get to do stuff with our friends, free time!
