Hi everyone

I volunteer for a Non-profit organization in Vancouver. We wanted to a computer that can stream 1080p video to youtube and maybe edit some videos, that is all. We didn't really have a budget for this but, we also don't want to spend too much money. Also, we already have all the peripherals.

Thanks

What kind of streaming? Do you plan on streaming 1080p at 30 or 60 FPS? Do you already have a capture card or do you need that factored in with the price? The more information and details you can provide the better our recommendations will be.

ryzen 3 with an ok used gpu should oc far enough to do that fairly well right?

It would definitely work even at stock speeds, the quality won't be the best but it'll be decent. A used GPU might be the way to go if you can find something local but otherwise a GT 710 is only ~$38 shipped on Newegg which will work fine for streaming and video editing (USD).

We want to stream at 30 frames. We have a capture device but that one is only for mac so it won't work.

The best I could do was $492.71 CAD for a complete system minus the capture card. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/RDGdyf

You can knock down the price some by dropping the HDD if you already have one or can find one used somewhere or if you have an extra case and power supply lying around. Otherwise, this build should do just fine for as a streaming PC at 1080p 30FPS if you keep the x264 CPU profile at a realistic setting. This build will also allow you to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 CPU down the road if you want to bump up the quality without having to buy anything else.

Oh, and for the capture card I would recommend an Elgato HD60 or HD60 S. Avoid the HD60 Pro unless you don't mind contacting Elgato if the firmware doesn't work with the AM4 chipset. Also avoid AVerMedia, they make awesome capture cards but getting them to work on an AMD chipset is nearly impossible (and I tried for a long time because I love my AVerMedia LGX).
