Hello there! I've been having a problem with my PC. When I boot it up, it's just fine. However, after a while, the system freezes, with any audio playing at the time of the freeze being looped a couple times, then ceasing. Afterwards, the system is COMPLETELY unresponsive. Administrative action, such as ctrl alt delete or ctrl shift esc for task manager do NOT work. I've put new thermal compound on, changed to an SSD for boot, and a lot of other stuff, including reinstalling GPU drivers. I suspect the faulty piece if the RAM. I'm running 8gb of hyperx fury RAM in dual channel, with a single stick. I bought it like so, there was never a second stick in the system. I think the RAM is the problem since no other hardware failure would have this kind of effect. A PSU failure would shut down the PC and would be obvious, a CPU failure would result in no POST, a mobo issue would have a similar problem to a CPU failure, and a storage failure would result in a boot failure of some sort. None of these errors are like the one I'm observing, so I think it's the RAM. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
