try to make an app that fixed a real life problem, 

 

like an idea my friend had was to make an AR app that showed where sewer pipes are in AR, so say you go to dig a whole you use the app to see any waterlines or electrical lines in real time via the camera.

 

now you'd need a lot do that that, as youd need a plan of your city's sewers pipes and stuff. and need it to be very accurate in the AR space so they dont dig and hit it expecting not to.

 

but its just an idea. that app might be more on googles level but idk

they made the mobile version of the site really really good. I have a chrome shortcut on my phone to go to LTT. its as fast as the site on computer.

 

if you look on here a website app has been talked about forever and will never happen.

I can't really think of apps I'm really missing in life which are simple enough for a hobby project.

 

A Git GUI client which doesn't use Electron and is cross-plat would be super awesome but that'd probably require more than just 1 person.

 

I actually would like a browser extension which removes social media buttons, trackers and would allow me to blacklist 1 or more website(s) whilst I'm doing work.

 

Perhaps a cross-plat app which lets me only run certain apps when doing work. E.g. user clicks button to say they're in Working mode and then the app stops any non work apps from being used.

 

I'd also recommend playing around with 1 or 2 open source projects on GitHub just to get an idea of how people write software and what they do. it shouldn't be something too difficult but it shouldn't seem ridiculously easy.

 

Generally though, I'd probably recommend trying to ask people around you what problems or issues they experience with apps or programs and go from there.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.
