Best GPU Thermal Paste?

I used liquid ultra (pretty much the same stuff as conductonaut) on a 295x2 before, 

the performance definitely speaks for itself (you can get up to 10 degrees less compared to a normal paste).

 

When applying keep in mind:

 

1. It is conductive, if you dont trust yourself to work clean tape up the stuff around the die or something

2. It eats Aluminium, never apply it to an aluminium cooler that is not nickel coated

3. Use a very small amount and take your time spreading it carefully with the included brush/q-tip. In my experience apply it on both surfaces as thin and even as possible, but still shiny and wet looking is best.

4. Never use a large amount, if you use a generous helping beads of liquid metal might form when hot that could short out your components.

I just got my 1080Ti FTW3 a few days back, and today I ordered my EK waterblock for it. I also have some Conductonaught and kyronaught on the way, I have some Artic Silver and I believe the waterblock comes with paste from EK. I wanted to know what would be the best paste out of the bunch to use on the GPU die. Ive heard people discourage the use of liquid metal on GPU's so I'm curious if anyone has any insight on this.

 

Slightly off topic from GPUs. How 'risky' is using liquid metal on a CPU die? I'm worried about shorting out components near the die, the chip is a 7700k.

I know only of artic sliver but the ek and artic silver are simlar.

Using liquid metal on a CPU is semi risky if you do it slow and properly. If you evenly spread it out you should be fine. For paste I think kyronaught is the highest at 12.5m/K

Just keeping this here as a Liquid metal can be used on a GPU die but require the proper preparation to ensure that none of the capacitors around the die get shorted out. Most use kapton or electrical tape to cover over them or coat it with say nail polish.

I used liquid ultra (pretty much the same stuff as conductonaut) on a 295x2 before, 

the performance definitely speaks for itself (you can get up to 10 degrees less compared to a normal paste).

 

When applying keep in mind:

 

1. It is conductive, if you dont trust yourself to work clean tape up the stuff around the die or something

2. It eats Aluminium, never apply it to an aluminium cooler that is not nickel coated

3. Use a very small amount and take your time spreading it carefully with the included brush/q-tip. In my experience apply it on both surfaces as thin and even as possible, but still shiny and wet looking is best.

4. Never use a large amount, if you use a generous helping beads of liquid metal might form when hot that could short out your components.
